11 Reasons I Still Love My Husband After 11 Years

How is it possible that I've already been married for 11 years???!!! I don't feel old enough to have such an established marriage.  The years truly fly by after a while.

Well, time to reflect on why I still love my man after being married to him for about a third of my life.

  1. He pampers me.  Case in point: today.  I got my first ever pedicure, second ever manicure, and a 90 minute massage to start my day off.  Thank you, Aaron.  Man, I truly feel like a brand new woman.
  2. He is patient with me.  It is impossible to have a real argument with Aaron.  He is like the calm before the storm, and no matter how what the situation, he always diffuses an argument before it has the chance to start.  Kind of reminds me of Minority Report, how the Tom Cruise character stopped crimes before they were committed.  Make sense? No? Oh well.....Aaron would get it.
  3. He cooks for me.  He meal preps for the upcoming week for both of us.  Each day I eat lunch, I think of him and feel just plain grateful and nourished.  When I come home from work, he also makes delicious and nutritious dinner. Don't be jealous. I know that I have it made.  I do.
  4. He is an amazing father to our 4 year old daughter.  She will always feel secure and safe in his love for her.  He reads to her, teaches her sight words, and cuddles with her before bed.  How sweet is that?

  5. He plays with my hair when I ask him to.  I absolutely LOVE having my hair played with, and Aaron does such a great job at it.  Sometimes, if I'm lucky, he'll even throw in a lop-sided braid or two.
  6. He drives when we are out and about and even on long trips.  That allows me to sit back and relax, and hopefully not get motion-sickness.  He just drove us back from Denver, Colorado, with a migraine, little sleep, and hardly any time during stops to stretch and rest.

  7. He loves reading Stephen King.  He's definitely a keeper.  Enough said.

  8. He budgets our money so well.  He is responsible, wise, and patient when it comes to paying off our debt.
  9. He lifts weights, and motivates me to do the same.  I love his enormous arms and tree-trunk legs.  He could play Thor or Captain America.  I think of him as the "big man on campus."

  10. He's extremely good-looking. I think he's actually growing more attractive as he gets older and wiser (and more muscular haha).  Sometimes I look at him and wonder how did I ever end up with a hottie like him.  God truly must have spent a lot of more time on him....on him...on him....on him....haha (if you're around my age, you'll get that reference).  I am still and will always be attracted to my lumberjack husband.  He's all that, plus a bag of chips.

  11. He serves and grows in his faith with me.  This is what matters.  We continue to learn more about and grow closer to God together.
So, there you have it.  These are just 11 of the endless reasons why I still love my man.  What will this next year hold for us?

I am looking forward to every single day with Aaron by my side.
